THERE IS HOPE PROJECT UPDATE – August 2026

Here at A Lot of Good, August means one thing above all else: it’s the month There Is Hope (TIH) heads back into full swing for the fall giving season. So let me reintroduce it properly, because some of you are new here, and even the ones who’ve been with us a while deserve a refresher on exactly what we’re building.

There Is Hope is the three-year program for families working their way out of crisis and into stability. Right now, there are 44 families active in the program — 20 in Year 1, 16 in Year 2, 8 in Year 3. Every single one of them gets real, tangible, monthly support: gas cards, grocery cards, and thrift store vouchers for clothing and shoes.

Here’s how the project works, and how you can make it real:

ALOG covers the shopping. You cover the food and gas. That’s it.

It’s not a sugar-coated tagline or anything fancy. That’s literally how the math works. ALOG’s thrift store profits fund the clothing and shoe vouchers — no donor dollars touch that. Every dollar you give goes only toward gas cards and grocery cards for a family in Year 1. 100% of donations go directly to families. No overhead. No middle.

Now here’s a number for you to sit with: $6.58 a day. That’s the full daily cost of funding one family’s entire first year in There Is Hope — $2,400 for the year, broken into $100 a month in gas cards and $100 a month in grocery cards. Less than a fast food combo. And it is the difference between a mom making it to her job interview and a mom who can’t.

The goal this year is to fund 30 new families for 2027 — a $72,000 goal. We’re going to talk about that goal a lot between now and December 31, because it’s big, and because this community can meet it.

You’re not just donating.  You are funding a specific, structured, multi-year plan for a specific family.  That family is real.  That impact is real, and its all starts with your decision to give.

Monthly donations start at just $10 per month!
