20 New Families Selected for the 2026 “There Is Hope” Project
A Lot of Good is excited to announce the selection of 20 new families who will be joining the nonprofit’s flagship “There Is Hope” Project in 2026.
The There Is Hope Project provides long-term support to families facing financial hardship by offering practical monthly assistance, essential resources, and encouragement for up to three years.
Families are nominated by A Lot of Good’s community and outreach partners throughout the Inland Empire. According to Sandy Cappelli, the program is designed to support families who are working through difficult circumstances and need additional help to regain stability.
The 2026 family selections include:
- 4 families from Foothill Family Shelter
- 4 families from Ontario-Montclair School District
- 3 families from Upland Unified School District
- 2 families each from Claremont Unified School District, Pacific Lifeline, and Hope Through Housing Foundation
- 1 family each from Upland Community Resource Center, Mama’s Neighborhood, and Legacy Bridges Foundation
During the first year of the program, families receive:
- $100 per month in gas cards
- $100 per month in grocery gift cards
- $100 per month in shopping vouchers to the A Lot of Good Thrift Store
In year two, families receive $100 per month in thrift store vouchers, and in year three they receive $50 per month.
Families also receive school backpacks and supplies for children each year and are included in the annual Winter Wonderland Project during the holiday season.
The total value of support available to each family over the course of the program can reach as much as $6,600.
“The There Is Hope Project is about walking alongside families over time,” Cappelli said. “We want them to know their community cares about them and believes in them. Together, we do A Lot of Good.”
A Lot of Good thanks its donors, volunteers, shoppers, and partners who make the There Is Hope Project possible each year.
