7th Street Apartment Fire Fundraiser
An apartment complex in Upland, CA was heavily damaged by fire on May 4, 2021. The San Bernardino County Fire Department was able to extinguish the flames without any loss of life. The multi unit building housed upwards of 50 families who are now being relocated to other areas with whatever clothes they had on their back.
The American Red Cross is spearheading the operations and is getting assistance from A Lot of Good to help in the efforts to provide emergency resources to all of the residents.
“This is such an unfortunate situation for so many families,” said A Lot of Good founder, Sandy Cappelli. “We are here to help them get back to their normal lives as quickly as possible.”
A Lot of Good is donating Walmart gift cards to every family as well as distributing gift cards to the A Lot of Good Thrift Store. But, that’s not all.
A fundraising page has beed started as part of the A Lot of Good “Raising Hope Project”. 100% of the donations will be designated to the residents of the apartment fire. All donations are tax deductible and distribution will be handled by the American Red Cross.
According to Cappelli, “We are here to be a good neighbor, a good community partner and be able to help those in need. That’s what we are going to do. Our tagline is ‘Together, we do a lot of good.’ And we’d love the community to help us do just that.”
