February 2021 became the first time A Lot of Good put a spotlight on one of the many organizations it partners with in the community. And it was a fantastic beginning for Foothill Family Shelter and A Lot of Good.

During the month, shoppers at the A Lot of Good Thrift Store were asked if they would like to help support Foothill Family Shelter during the checkout process at the register.  There was also a $hopping 4 Good Day event where a percentage of the sales were set aside for the Spotlight Charity.  The goal was to raise $2000.

When it was all counted up at the end of the month, more than $2800 was raised to be given to Foothill Family Shelter.

“I was blown away!”, said Foothill Family Shelter Executive Director, Megan Nehamen.

A Lot of Good Founder/Executive Director Sandy Cappelli presented the check to Ms. Nehamen at a small gathering at the thrift store. “None of this would have been possible without the help of a lot of people-the people who donate goods, the staff and volunteers at the store, the cashiers for remembering to ask, and the shoppers who were so generous.”

There are a total of ten Community Partners that will be in the spotlight through the course of 2021.
